Mascara Tears
_______________________________________________________________

I remember seeing a woman crying on the NYC Subway. Her mascara was running down her face, carrying some gold sparkles from her eye-shadow. No one asked if she was okay. No one even acknowledged she was crying. The memory has always stuck with me.

This pendent lamp features layers of black glass, giving the overall form a subtle depth. The core depicts the layered complexity of our emotions, many times a sadness lingering within another sadness. A gold rim beautifully accents the blackness, guarding the light source, like the smiles we use to shield our sheared and shattered hearts.
