A magazine that compiles news of racism in Brazil in 2019, in its most diverse and perverse oppressions in response to all those who say that “Racism is a rare thing in Brazil”. Or even, (just) a misunderstanding.
The project began in mid-2019 and was reviewed in 2021.
VTC MARTIN was inspired by the 1968 Memphis strike in the USA, in which mostly black workers demanded better working conditions, wages and recognition of their union. Martin Luther King Jr. joined the cause and gave his last speech to a crowd of people before being assassinated at Memphis’s Lorraine Motel.

In total there were 12 news, one for each month. So, starting from number 12, the grid was structured in multiples of 3, with subdivisions that always follow this logic.
The palette follows 2 different paths: one colder, with shades of blues and browns and the other warmer with shades of red. I combined the melancholy of the blues with different shades of black skin and added it with the reds that darken over the months. To also "darken" the facts and reinforce the argument that racism is common in Brazil.
The magazine's title page opens with a sentence by Jair Bolsonaro said on May 8, 2019 and closes with this other sentence revealing the real situation of racism in Brazil.
