This is the original background image. If you look closely you can see a lot of the imperfections of the composited image, but I masked these with the image of Summer Glau and eventually by an orange gradient. This image too a lot of overlapping, masking, and clone stamping.
This is an Earlier version of the project. I scrapped it, because the background was too busy (I notice that I also didn't change the flap text to white, before making the jpeg).
This is the completed image, without any text. I actually created this relatively quickly (about 3 or 4 hours), spending most of my time on the background, which, ironically ended up being covered, almost entirely, by the gradient.
