GE Jets and Electrical Power System used in Civilian Supersonic Plane

The company revealed in late 2019 that it will be building the jet engines and electrical power systems for a supersonic business jet known as AS2. The supersonic plane is being developed by Nevada-based Aerion Supersonic, with Boeing as a partner.
The plane is designed to fly up to 12 passengers and travel up to 1,000 miles per hour. With a top speed exceeding that of the speed of sound, the plane is also 70 percent faster than most of the current business jets. The plane could shorten a flight across the Pacific Ocean by five hours and a trip over the Atlantic Ocean by three hours. It is slated to fly in 2023.
