During my internship at Lizard Global in Kuala Lumpur, I did research about animation in UI, focusing on web, Android and iOS using the Lottie library.
Lottie is a library for Android, iOS, Web, and Windows that parses Adobe After Effects animations exported as json with Bodymovin and renders them natively on mobile and on the web.
While animating for Lottie you have to think about the limitations in After Effects as not all features are supported. Everything is to be animated by hand, using the base principles of animation.
After my research was done I introduced the design team to After Effects in weekly workshops so they could animate for Lottie.
