This project, Wonderland, is a design response to my research for the fantasy in contemporary city. According to the ethnographic investigation of comic shops, I understand how fantasy incorporates contemporary people's life. And though the cultural probe research, I noticed that humans can find images in the abstraction, both through association and imagination. However, not everybody is good at fantasy.

I see fantasy as a key method to help people living in contemporary society to get away from anxiety, which is caused by rationality, the mainstream of urban life and contemporary world. Because fantasy can build a bridge leading people to the irrational spiritual world, that is why I tried to do this project, a space design about creating fantasy and sacred space where contemporary people can relax and daydream. Through this project, I hope to explore the fantasy in contemporary society, how it influences people and what it means to people. Besides, how can design utilize the human ability of imagination to provide a better living environment.

I hope this space is natural, simple, and ambiguous enough to provide materials for human fantasy.
