The largest personal project I have ever undertaken, ‘This Sadness, My Friend’ is very close to my heart.
Someone once said to me- "You are making this sadness your friend, which is
why you keep looking for reasons to be upset".
This piece is the embodiment of sadness. I claimed the sadness for my own and it claimed me back. The hands amidst the chaos signify this ‘claiming’. My work holds pieces of me in it, but I like to actually be present within some. Here, I am equal to the subject, but it holds itself without my presence too.
