This is a project I did for DES 325 Graphic Design 2 in Fall 2018. The project was to take an already existing city (real or fictional) and rebrand it. I chose the city of Hanamura, Japan. A fictional city from the game Overwatch. I rebranded the logo and all the deliverables for the city.
Software: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop,
Time: ~40 hours
The dragon logo is in the shape of a triangle in order to symbolize the top of a temple. It also symbolizes the dragon looking over the district of Hanamura. It is both a warning and a symbol of protection. The red in the logo is the same kind of red that is in the pillars and trim of the temple.
A few different examples of how the name "Hanamura" would be displayed alongside the dragon logo and by itself. It can also be in black and white too if color is not able to be printed.
A prototype for a lovely postcard to send people from the beautiful city of Hanamura
The world that Overwatch takes place in is more advanced than our world. They have pulse rifles and sentient robots who have their own free will. But they also have futuristic cars that can hover in the air. One of the cars shown in Hanamura is a transport van. This could be used all around the city for various things.
A lot of dishes in Japan are served in a bowl with chopsticks. Ramen, rice, other types of noodles and meats. So why not style it a little more and have your own Hanamura bowl set.
A nice full bleed business card to hand people to show them who's in charge of the city
In Japan, bomber jackets are a very popular style and show of what team or brand you are trying to present. It can also get very chilly and snow in Hanamura so having a nice warm jacket for the winter is always appreciated.
The rebranding of Hanamura is a project I made for my DES 360 Graphic Design 2 in Fall 2018. In this project I took the fictional city of Hanamura, which appears in the game Overwatch, and rebranded it. From the logos to the colors to merchandise from the city, everything was made to give a new graphic identity to Hanamura
