In the novel Dominika is working with taboo topics like infertility, violence against women and more. It is set in a centuries-old story in Myjava, a Slovak village.

Therefore our main idea and inspiration was Slovak folklore, ornaments, clothes and laces from that region.

The story is very rich so I tried to create light ornaments with a modern twist. Some of these ornaments above were used in the book but pictures above are actually posters that I’ve made for an exhibition and book reading in Myjava.
