Website Redesign | LaSalle Restaurant & Bar

About The Project
Complete redesign of the website from LaSalle – a popular restaurant in the city of Zürich.
It includes conception (research, new site structure for improved UX, wireframes), design (new look & feel, screendesigns, interactive prototypes in Adobe XD, animations with Adobe After Effects) as well as some development (hard coded mini-prototype)
Conception
The Restaurant
Pictures from inside the restaurant. These were the foundation of my design process.
Adapting For Web
To find out how I can adequately portray the restaurant on the web, I formed key sentences for both the restaurant itself and the respective vision for it's new website. These sentences accompanied the design process from start to finish.
Mood Imagery
The restaurant gains a unique feel through beautiful contrasting elements. On one hand, there are artisanal and industrial qualities to it, but it still feels modern and luxurious. I identified the beautiful lighting throughout the place as one of the key elements to bridge that gap. This is apparent in the mood imagery i chose.
Wireframes
I wireframed the three most important screens before going into design: Home, Menu and detail page (from left to right).
Design
Screendesign
Animation
Adobe After Effects animation to give the client a better idea of how the site will interact when in use. Hence, reducing the risk of misunderstandings.
Development
Because interactions play a big part in the concept, I wanted the client to experience it for themselves with a coded prototype. In addition to that it was a valuable coding experience.
Excerpt from the original code. The prototype only covered the main menu interaction and was programmed in a couple of hours.
