Friday 6th of September the exhibition Gombri lifir by Elín Edda opened at 8 pm at Gallery Port. At the same time a 176-pages graphic novel of the same title was published in 200 copies.
Gombri lifir is a stand-alone sequel to Gombri, a graphic novel about a mysterious creature who lives in a dangerous world that does not care about Mother Earth’s fate. Gombri lifir is a poetic graphic novel about urgent responsibility, justice and greed.
Elín Edda graduated from graphic design at Iceland University of the Arts in 2018. She has published three graphic novels, Plantan á ganginum (co-author: Elísabet Rún) (2014), Gombri (2016) and Glingurfugl (2018) as well as a collection of poetry, Hamingjan leit við og beit mig in 2016. Gombri’s French translation was published in Montréal this summer and an English translation will soon be published inthe United Kingdom.
