{ 251st Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2019 }

This year, my artwork The Plant Room was selected for the Royal Academy of Art's 251st Summer Exhibition in London. It formed part of the architectural Sustainability exhibit, curated by Spencer de Grey of Foster & Partners in the Large Weston Room (exhibit #683).

Friday 31st May 2019 was Varnishing Day at the Royal Academy, and being an artist whose work was selected, I was invited to see the show before it opened to the public on June 10th 2019.

The artwork is a giclée print of a digital collage, comprising hand drawn elements, and CAD drawings, composed in Adobe Photoshop. I wrote 3 haikus to accompany the piece, and they give insight into the imagined sensory experiences of the depicted environment. The print is part of a limited edition set (1 of 30).

The artwork was sold before the show opened.

Thank you to my family, amazing friends and tutors who have supported, encouraged and inspired me to continue to draw and be creative. I cannot explain the delight and excitement of being showcased in the same gallery space as hundreds of great artists before me (including Da Vinci, Picasso and Turner).
