Inspired by the García Building of Barranquilla, Colombia considered a local architectural landmark, and bringing forth a re-design of artesan customs of the department of the Atlantic in the Caribbean Region this mini collection is born. Participating in an academic team effort, Marka8 shows the best work of UAC students complementing fashion showcases part of PlataformaK, the most inffluential fashion event of the caribbean coast.
Crochet artesans from the town of Chorreras, in the Atlantic department of Colombia worked with the designer to re-construct garments and re-design custom techniques to show an avant garde jeanswear look.
Iraca palm fibers were used to construct complementary pieces, with the collaboration of artesans from the town of Usiacurí, Atlántico in the Caribbean Region of Colombia.
Denim garments were thoughtfully designed to create a bolder streetwear and jeanswear sillouhette.
