I created a fictitious campaign that turns American patriotism on its head. Pairing historically patriotic colors and imagery with stark statistics about today's American reality is made to have American citizens question their patriotism. I created these pieces in the format of throwaway decorations one might find at a 4th of July party to pull the concept home. Buttons, flags, and bumper stickers, all forms that usually take on a light, patriotic tone, suddenly become bleak with a closer look.
