This photojournalism project was under the topic of 'Untold Stories,' and I decided to take local 'dhol walay' or drum beaters as my subject. This story explores the life of the 'dhol walay' that are an inherent part of Pakistani celebrations, weddings in particular. These individuals add so much joy to our events, but that begs the question: who does this for them? Through this project I try to uncover what life is like for these people, struggling to survive within a metropolis, and within the cultural and religious bounds of society.
