AAT-Assault Armored Transport
These photo-illustrations and graphic concepts serve as production art for the Magnesium Bow Director’s Guide.
Lance Wolf (Concept Artist, Illustrator, and Model Maker) presents the AAT assault armored transport.
This in-depth look considers the design and includes a time lapse video of some of the changes made. The initial cockpit and gun armaments placements were not the intended finished design. In 2013, an 18-month redesign and refitting began. The original cargo and personnel carrier was taken to another level as it became the Assault Armored Transport, a frontline assault vehicle. The versatile Assault Armored Transport serves all combat theater needs. In addition to its personnel carrier / cargo transport functions, it has a primary weapons platform that can be outfitted with two very different but very powerful weapons. Depending on the mission profile it can be outfitted with a double rail gun / quad gun to serve as a Frontline artillery unit or can be outfitted with a multiple rocket launcher. This makes the AAT hovercraft a dominating force as it combines so many mission profiles, normally served by several different types of vehicles.
It truly is the dominate Mammoth of the battlefield. Seen in the story Magnesium Bow.
The video includes artwork from the Director's Guide which is exhibited here in this project gallery.
The model / production prop is fabricated through the processes of scratch building and kitbashing.
The model is primarily made from cardboard and acid-free black core mat board, various model parts and broken down toy parts.
The model / production prop measures 28” wide, 42” long and 12” tall, 18”with armament.
