UMass Lowell SiS Rebrand
UX/UI Design
The UMass Lowell secure site, known as SiS, is a nightmare to navigate and hated by both student and faculty users. It is inefficient, confusing, and aesthetically unappealing. As a UX/UI design project, I decided to rebrand SiS by combining it with the other sites used by the college (Blackboard, NOW, & UCAPS), creating an all-encompassing version. I completed detailed competitor research before beginning the project, followed by sketching, user flows, low-fidelity wireframing in Axure RP and usability testing following
a written script. After finalizing the UX/functionality of the native desktop application, I developed a style tile to direct my high-fidelity UI designs in Adobe XD. A second round
of usability testing was performed to test the creative designs with multiple revisions made afterwards. A pattern library/UI design system was developed for the final product. The rebrand effectively adheres to the UMass Lowell brand guidelines and was designed in compliance to web accessibility standards.
