Painted Field
For this project, each Sophomore in Apparel Design was given 5 yards of a random fabric designed and digitally printed by a Junior in Textiles Design. The apparel designer must respect and uphold the integrity of the printed fabric given and can only visibly incorporate 20% of other fabrics. This fabric was designed and digitally printed by Kyulim Kim TX '13. The spontaneous, painterly, gestures of the all-over print immediately inspired me to create clean-cut tailored pieces, which would offer the print a sense of balance and stability, much like a frame for a painting. Model: Sarah Morse.
