Project outline
Due to the great advance in medical development the world population grows dramatically to a peak. Nowadays, people are able to live and maintain fit until their late seventies. However, people still cannot resist from ageing.
The degenerated body strength stops them from engaging with society. Elderly start to become underprivileged/minority of the communities and confronting loneliness and being excluded by others.
The project aims to encourage senior citizens get motivated with outdoor activities by improved their outdoor experience. With more frequency exercise, elderly are able to maintain their body strength and also deferred their body form degenerated.
Target audience
The project are approached to encouraged the mobility of the potential aging groups, and be able to maintain the active attitude during their living, in order to extend their ability of mobility.
Target age range is the senior groups age from 64 to 74 years old which also known as the Baby Boomer generation. This group of senior citizen is the potential aging groups who will sooner facing degenerating, which has multiple possibility of further design development.
EmpathiK, which is capable in transforming from supporting frame to flexible shopping trolley challenges the conventional tubular walking frame.
The design concept is aiming for longevity usage as well as user could carry on within different aging process and continually provide support to the user.
According to the demographic of senior population shows that the young-old is constituted the most percentage of community, which is the perfect aging bend for this project with enormous market potential.
