'True Colours' - Major Project

THE BRIEF

COMING UP WITH IDEAS

CREATING SCAMPS

TUTOR CRITS

CONCEPT 1

After creating the first label and bottle cap, I noticed that the information on the back of the bottle and the barcode were very small and would have to be resized. Along with this, I realised that the label was too short for the bottle. This is because the first bottle I was going to use for the mock-ups was a 330ml glass Amstel bottle, however the label did not sit right on the bottle as they are slanted. I used  Budweiser bottles instead to compensate for this and figured out that I needed to print the labels 182mm x 78mm.

CONCEPT 2

The major reason for creating another mock up is because I found that on the first label all of the different elements of the label were very separate from each other, so i moved the main text closer to the vampire's mouth. I also made the barcode and the information bigger so that it is more legible.
Before redesigning this concept, I had a one-to-one conversation about my project so far with my tutor, Sebastian Chaloner, who said that I should consider making the leaf shapes resemble basil more than they did previously, and that I should look more into typefaces that I could use instead of settling for Helvetica or something similar.

CONCEPT 3

Above is what I designed and submitted for this project.
