The preservation of Chinese Seals: Book Casing
Back then, the Chinese Seals were used to identify a person's signature or identity. In today's modern society, Chinese Seals are hardly used and they are close to being extinct. They are only bought for vintage or keepsake.

A book packaging was done for a book which covers about Chinese Seals and the making of a Chinese Seal.
This project was undertaken as part of a Level 2 BA (Hons) Project in Lasalle College of The Arts in 2011/2012.
The making of the Book Casing
The making of the Book Casing
The book casing was made with greyboard, wrapped in Chinese Calligraphy paper. The text - "the making of" is printed onto the calligraphy paper through the use of ink transfer, by printing on normal paper with a laser printer and transferring it by rubbing thinner onto the printed paper, which would then transfer the print onto the calligraphy paper.
To create the old feel, I created an old version of envelopes, by adding two square pieces, mounted on 2 circles and enclosing the casing through a red string, to match the red/white color scheme.
