Presented is a collection of top shots from the first half of the 2019/20 season for the College of Charleston Men's Basketball team. This was another new sport to photograph and I happily welcomed the challenge -- seizing the opportunity to further develop my skill set while contributing to the team's media. The photos serve a variety of purposes between web, social and creative content, so a dynamic selection is required to meet each's needs.
Pre-game frames:
Pre-game shots would regularly be used on Instagram stories to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the team beyond the usual course of play.
Game time:
One challenge faced within the arena was with lighting and white balance, which required a Lightroom preset to make a uniform look and to process efficiently in-game. Also key to the solution was to make sure the brand colors and elements were well-represented in the photos. Below shows a before/after with the preset:
For the last few home games, additional tweaks were made to the preset to further enhance our photo treatment and adjust to the slight changes in the arena lighting. See the before/after, which is used in some photos throughout the post:

The photos were used across all social media channels (Athletics and MBB), the website for game-relating stories and occasionally by local news outlets. Photos from the Georgia State game (4th phone) generated the most interactions for a gameday post on @cofcbasketball:
Since the photos will have a wide variety of uses, there must be a variety of shots to accommodate this.
