ORRERY I - Chandelier
'Orrery I' is a kinetic chandelier designed by @mcgowanjulian (under the label MAK) and developed by @node_za from anodised aluminium with hand-blown glass shades. It is a product of MAK, Southern Guild’s in-house design label, in collaboration with NØDE, a new studio specialising in hand-finished aluminium furniture and interior products. A series of bifurcated arms connected using barrel hinges allows the chandelier to be configured in multiple ways, making it ideal for placement over a long or circular table.

The 'Orrery I' chandelier can be configured in multiple ways, making it ideal for placement over a long or circular table. Its bifurcated arms connect using barrel hinges, which allows each arm of the light to swivel. It is a product of MAK, Southern Guild’s in-house design label, in collaboration with @node_za. The design was inspired by old-fashioned orreries – mechanical models demonstrating the motion of the planets in the solar system – as well as Alexander Calder’s playful mobiles.
