    Gene DiNovi’s evocative Scandinavian Suite No. 1 paints a musical picture of Scandinavia. Visuals by Sara Tyson and other artirsts that make a connection between Scandinavian scenes and our northern landscapes were projected throughout the performance at the Festival of the Sound in 2010. Sara’s images were set in motion by Gene DiNovi’s liner notes about “The Old City” from The Scandinavian Suite No. 1, “...Many centuries ago, the first city of Stockholm was built on the island. Today, one marvels at the tremendous architectural ability of these early settlers. The buildings have withstood all ravages of time and the elements. They represent the look of the modern buildings today, with their clean, straight lines...” His music and words inspired my modern approach to these architectural studies of the Old City of Stockholm.
