DISAPPEAR
SERIES EXPLORING THE CITY DURING MISTY DAYS AND NIGHTS.

With fog, the air becomes muffled and enchanting. The space around you becomes vague and quiet. The magic towards the unknown combines with the arising of simple lines and indiscernible details.

THE LOST TRAVELLER
Only the Parliament Building’s dome and towers emerge from the thick blanket of fog that creeps over the Danube River and covers the entire city of Budapest at dawn. In the distance, the fog lights of an early-rising traveller"s car shine on the embankment. BUDAPEST, 2013.
SUN BREAKING TROUGH THE FOG
The Hungarian Parliament building is the third largest parliament building in the world. Finished in 1902 after nearly 20 years of construction and contains 691 rooms.
BUDAPEST, 2017.
MARGARET BRIDGE
The second bridge to be built in the Capital was Margaret Bridge, made from an iron structure with many pieces that were actually manufactured in France and transported to Budapest by train. Built between 1872 and 1876, this bridge leads across to Margaret Island, a popular tourist destination and a hotspot after sunset.
BUDAPEST, 2014.
LIONS
There is a legend about the stone lions sitting on either sides of the Chain Bridge that says that the lions do not have a tongue because the sculptor forgot to create it for them. The myth goes on by saying that when this rumor got unfolded, the whole country made fun of him and being ashamed, he committed suicide by jumping into the Danube from the bridge. But that's just a legend... :)
Its construction was proposed by Count István Széchenyi, one of the leading figures in 18th century Hungary, and the construction was supervised by Scottish engineer Adam Clark,
BUDAPEST, 2019.
GOLDEN BROWN
The Chain Bridge with the Moon above and the magical reflections in the Danube on a golden brown misty night.
BUDAPEST, 2019.
PILLARS IN THE MIST
The pillars of the Chain Bridge stand out from the mist billowing over the surface of the Danube.
BUDAPEST, 2011.
INFERNO
A few windless days in October prevented the smog leaving the city. Mixed with the mist at dawn resulted a hellish halo-spectacle, like a scene from Blade Runner.
Liberty Bridge, BUDAPEST, 2016.
THE LIBERTY STATUE
The Liberty statue at the top of Gellért Hill, in a purple sunrise.
BUDAPEST, 2019.
OVER THE CLOUDS
The City sleeps under a blanket of fog on a cold winter morning. Only a 203 m high chimney is able to peer through the thick layer of valley fog, which often forms in low-lying areas on cold clear nights, especially in fall and winter.
BUDAPEST, 2018.
AVALANCHE
Like an avalanche, the fog is approaching from the hills in the distance.
BUDAPEST, 2018.
