For my collection, I began my research looking through detail images of Chuck Close paintings from the late 1960s and early ‘70s. I am drawn to how his realistic portraits can be broken down into simple shapes and colors to create the overall image. Further, the attitude of my collection is inspired by the sass and playfulness of ‘60s icons such as artist Andy Warhol and French actress Anna Karina. Design elements in the collection reflect the Chuck Close geometry and the 1960s young adult state of mind. The Elise Pelletier Girl reflects these influences with confidence and passion. She is someone who is the life of the party wherever she goes. In this Pre-Fall  collection, my customers will never fade into the background.
