Competition: PORTABLE READING ROOMS by BEE BREEDERS | Singapore

Category: Pavilion

Location: The whole world

Project Year: 2019

Authors: Gleb Goncharenko, Ksenia Zabardygina
"Do not judge a book by its cover"
The concept of the project uses one of the strongest feelings of man - curiosity. It’s always curious to find out, “What's inside?”
The facade of the portable reading room is a clean wooden surface (cover), thereby depersonalizing it, creating a universal design for placement anywhere in the world. Inside (under the cover) a world full of books, meetings, heated debates and conversations.
The materials used are plywood sheets and wooden beams, the roof is polycarbonate sheets. Construction - wooden frame sheathed with plywood.
The architecture of the reading room allows its visitors to: leave the bike at the bike park, sit down on the way to have coffee, take a book, leave a book, meet friends and relax on the second floor in the lounge area, listen to a lecture and most importantly read, read, READ!
