Al Rodriguez serves as LEED Administrator

The design/build team of Powell Design Group / Friedrich Watkins was selected to design and construct the new $6 million “Dewey's Club” Facility at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville. The project was awarded as the result of a design competition, maintaining budgetary compliance through the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department of the Navy in conjunction with the contracting arm of the Army’s Family and MWR Command (FMWRC) within the Department of Defense. The Orlando office of Powell Design Group will lead the project, with involvement by PDG’s Jacksonville office in the areas of LEED® coordination, quality control and construction administration. The 25,000 SF building is being designed to achieve LEED® Silver Certification and will include a full 140-seat Restaurant, Club and Lounge, full-service Kitchen and a 7,000 SF Banquet Hall. Construction is slated to start in early 2011.
