F Newsmagazine is an award-winning journal of arts, culture, and politics edited and designed by students at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). The print edition is published eight times a year and distributed free around Chicago.
During the past four presses, I was involved in a wide range of tasks from designing spreads for print issues, illustrating social media posts to creating motion graphic advertisements playing on digital screens across SAIC campus.
During the production weekend, which is a two-day long intensive work day, designers gather and design the whole issue of the month together.
When designing, designers are responsible for both designing and illustrating the pages assigned.
Close-up on "2010's in Review", an infographic I made for December 2019 issue. This spread was produced in 48 hours.
Close-up on the cover art I made for November 2019 Issue with the theme of Censorship.
Aside of designing for print issues, I also illustrate for the online articles on fnewsmagazine.com. The illustrations are assigned once a week with four days of turn-around time.
Thanks for coming all the way down here!
