Boutique Theatre
Boutique Theatre was my final collection at fashion school. My inspiration for this collection developed from watching live burlesque performances. My aim was to create delicately hand painted and beaded garments which were easy to move around in but unlike typical burlesque outfits, they were designed to not be removed.
In order to pay homage to the performance of flirtation the garments are carefully cut to excite, but not reveal too much. Every garment is hand-dyed and painted with a pattern then hand beaded. The fur jackets are made from commercially dyed possum pelts which have been left whole and overlapped rather than cut.
