Galanaki Maria — English Language Institute
Galanaki Maria is an English Language Institute located in Athens, Greece.
The logo is a mixture of greek and english elements; it is through its dynamic relationship with space that it develops itself.
Firstly, there is a distinction between the greek and english alphabet due to different weight of font. Secondly, it is the way through which the identity system functions that relies upon the notion that no matter what design element one may have, it may function both in greek and english at the same time.
A four different grid system poster was designed with regard to the use of every poster such as business promotion, theatrical play or vacation opening hours. A development system was created for this reason, which is modified and includes elements both in english and greek such as: title, subtitle, date, further information, opening hours.
Visual – Promotional Material
On the one hand one may have the english part of the logotype with a supplementary usage of kids' visuals and on the other, one may have information and the greek version of the logotype. In this way each Christmas card is made unique since it is made by every and each child of the institute.
Signage – Guiding system
It is within this mind framework that the interior signage is based upon; that is the concurrent use of greek and english words creating by that way a unified visual result that assists to wayfinding system.
