Optical Art:

This is a selection of my “black and white” drawings, hand-made with different graded pencils.

I start with a well thought-out plan and some research on the subject. After setting up a secure lay-out, I give the drawing more and more body. Layer after layer the drawing gets richer on contrast until I’m satisfied with the result. Lately I also use colored elements, usually applied with airbrush, gouache and pencil.

The inspiration is my love for nature and specially butterflies. For that I don't have to go far.. Creeping through my garden I make photos that can be used as models, it's a jungle out there..

 

 

These designs are available as full size Gicleé-prints (50x65 cm.) Hand signed and numbered.
