I would like to present you the series of illustrations to magical, moralising fairytale «Black hen or underground dwellers» by a famous russian author of the 19th century - Antoniy Pogorelskiy. This fairytale's plot twists around the surreal imaginary world, filled with mysterious and puzzling characters, enigmatic spirit. Main character's rite of passage, his immoral actions and deep remorse are the key details of this children's story, that fill it with so many themes for vivid illustrations.
The series is a mixed technique of collage with acryle and monotypy; in bright, contrasting colours with a large degree of stylization, and nonetheless a wide variety of patterns and details, that are so substantial for creating a children's book.
