Shadow Box Project

Introduction

Home is like a harbor for my life. So, my shadow box is about my home. My home is made up of family members: my wife, my children and me. It also includes a house that accommodates us. These elements need to be expressed in many forms. It was difficult for me to get a way of expression in such a small shadow box. This was a challenge for me.

Materials
scissors
knife
ruler
markers
rugged cardboard
glossy paper
plastic
foam

Creative Process

In the box, I purposely used straight lines to represent the extension of the roof of the house.  It also showed the depth and three dimensional shapes. The shadow box frame is made of paper and foam. I expected the shapes to give the composition a sense of energy and movement. I used a part of neo-abstraction. I used four squares to repersent the four members of my family. I used shapes in my artwork to link them  together.
Conclusion

I was truly happy to share my most cherished moments in style. Of course, there is also a clear contrast in this work. Such as the actual house and the abstract background. I hope that through this box, I can express the concept of family and be love to share.
