Ralph notices that his friends and family in the video game world are disappearing, and ventures into levels of games to find them. He gathers together 5 characters, including a sarcastic Goomba, whom decide to travel through a 2-D side scrolling world, to a castle where Lich King, from World of Warcraft, is kidnapping characters, turning them into 8-bit versions of themselves, using a controller, and sending them into a level to build him a home, as slaves.
