Design For The Future: 2045
BRIEF:
Design a product for the year 2045, a future with:
- Automation & digitization; overcrowded cities; efficient & dynamic but highly predictable.
- Concrete jungles with vertical farms, with very little natural forest cover.
- The essence of natural vegetation & animals merely echoes in the artificial landscapes built for
human convenience and engagement.
- Humans increasingly spend their time indoors, and the trend of a health-conscious lifestyle
connected with the great outdoors is missing from their lives.
An ecosystem equipped to meet the practical & emotional needs of people for this future must be developed starting today. Gyms and health centers are cropping up everywhere with increasing demand, and people want these fitness spaces to keep them engaged and motivated. With the ambience in a typical gym, simple daily exercises like walking/jogging/running on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike may seem too monotonous without an engaging visual stimulus. The eyeV Smartglass System provides exactly this, and more.
SYSTEM:
Treadmill + Glasses + App + Cloud –
record/upload/download & live virtual experiences directly with the glasses while exercising.
USE:
- Once on the treadmill, the user powers on the glasses (in transparent mode), which on pressing the treadmill sensor button, get paired with it.
- The user chooses the speed/incline/difficulty on the treadmill, after which the glasses become reflective, the projector turns on and the user can choose the new environment they want to explore, from the experience gallery.
- With audio and visual confirmation, the experience commences, and transports the user to a new environment, and plays out as the user continues working out.
- Towards the end, with an audio & visual warning (e.g.: “one minute left”), the experience ends & the glasses slowly become transparent again (user comfort, gradually coming back to the physical surrounding).
Connect with today:
- A smartphone app for today’s time, so people can record experiences and visits to different places around the world that might not exist in the future- national parks, mountain treks, nature walks.
- Experience videos can be geotagged to certify their authenticity, processed by artificial intelligence (AI) & machine learning (ML), and saved in a compatible format, for playback on the smart glasses.
- In the future, the recording and uploading will be done via the glasses directly.
