Revisiting Miles Davis's "Star People" Jazz Fusion album cover.
Jazz Fusion is a mix between Free Jazz and Folk. I wanted to create a very "crowded" effect in the background to represent the energy and spontaneity of free jazz. The next step was to give it an electric twist which would represent the influence of Folk and more precisely of the electric guitar very present in Jazz Fusion Music.
Music critics used to say that Miles Davis could play so well that he seamed to make the instruments "squeal" and thereby give to the spectators the impression that the instruments were living entities.
So in reaction to that, I decided to choose a photography of Miles Davis taken by Irving Penn, in which Miles has a very intense and mythical look.
