About the Boy Scouts of America’s Venturing Program
With over 30 years in service, Nielsen & Treas, LLC, helps its clients resolve issues on legal matters related to insurance, regulation, and governmental interest litigation. Over the years, Nielsen & Treas, LLC, has supported organizations that focus on youth and community development, such as Boy Scouts of America.

Established in 1910, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the oldest and largest youth-oriented organizations in the United States. With over 2.4 million members, BSA excels at providing opportunities for youth to develop skills and engage in community outreach. In 1998, BSA started offering the Venturing program to boys and girls aged 14-21.

The Venturing program focuses on four main areas: adventure, leadership, personal growth, and service. Participants take part in various activities, including kayaking, rappelling, and volunteering at animal shelters. They also receive training in personal safety awareness, goal setting and management, first-aid, and project management. Those who want to lead a Venturing program in the future will become part of the Venture crew after completing the crew officer orientation and advanced youth training.
