Character Tracing- Introduction to digital media

Introduction:
I used a reference image of a cartoon character as a template and was tasked with tracing the character using the pencil tool. the character I picked to trace was Buttercup from the Powerpuff girls.

Materials:
What I used when doing this project was Adobe illustrator.

Creative process:
I chose to trace buttercup because I always used to watch the Powerpuff girls when I was younger and because Buttercup was my favorite out of the three.

Production Methods/ Workflow and Tools:
when tracing my character I used the pencil tool to trace the image itself and then used the paint brush tool to color the character. The final did not turn out that great, butt i think it was good for a first try.

Conclusion:
After doing this project I was able to get the idea of how to use not just the pen and paint brush tool, but also Adobe illustrator as well. probably one of the most challenging this about this was coloring it because I kept going over the tracing lines and it was a real pain in the ass. what I achieved was that I was able to finish it because I did not think i was going to be able to do it at first but i ended up finishing it. If I have the opportunity to do this projects again I would probably focus more of my attention to tracing because I didn't really do a good job on that. My advice for doing this pick a character you like but is also simple to do if your a beginner like me.
