The 2021 Toyota Mirai runs on an innovative hydrogen-based system that emits only water. Saatchi LA wanted to highlight the connection to water by showing it in a place that swings from one extreme of the element to another – The Bonneville Salt Flats, sometimes hard dry salt, sometimes flooded shallow lake. Through the skills of Recom Farmhouse's NY Studio, the car was created in CGI and composited into the chosen backgrounds.
