This project was completed as part of the curriculum for the Mould Design for Injection Mould Tooling course in First Polymer Training in County Athlone, Ireland. Through completing this course, I achieved a QQI component (minor) award, certified at Level 5 on the national framework of qualifications. Throughout my career I have gained expert knowledge in the design of plastic products which in turn means I can have a major influence on the design of the injection mould tools used to manufacture the plastic parts I design. Thanks to the course at First Polymer my knowledge of injection mould tool design has excelled exponentially. These are the drawings I created of the mould tool and the part I designed for the project in order to achieve this qualification. I chose a Hasco tool for the tool design. Hasco is a company for toolmakers who supply standard mould units.
