Pause Fest 2020 Pause Originals: Cyberpunk Shanhaiching
I'm very honored to make this short film for pause fest. I grew up watching western movies, playing games, and watching comics seems to have nothing to do with Chinese traditional culture. But because of family education, I heard my grandfather tell many stories of Chinese tradition God's word, and I like it very much. One day when I finished watching <American gods>, I was thinking about my side I think I need to do something, so I started to take the ancient myth as a model, and create some traditional stories that are more in line with people's aesthetic, so that people can pay attention to it again
Finally, I chose the Shanhaiching(山海经) as the story background.
“The Cyberpunk Shanhaiching(赛博朋克山海经)” is a new question to the ancient wisdom.
Our ancestors always record the unknown gods and demons in the books, they named them, remember their deeds, passed down all this from generation to generation for thousands of years.
When the technology developing day by day. when the powerful technology mastered by mankind. Those gods and demons that were once mysterious and ancient are also can be bred by science and technology.
The mankind can be divided into good and evil. When technology mastered by different people, they created gods and demons in the robots，this world may be changed into another world.
This video wants to give you some thoughts. When the new Odyssey of technology comes and the technology is mastered by different people, this will make the world better, worse, or unchanged. How should we deal with it?
