Type Evolution - A History of Typography

This book is the product of Craig Jobson's Intermediate Typography course at Columbia College Chicago that aims to examine type design within the contextual structure of historical development, beginning with the invention of movable type and progressing up and through the 20th century. Students examined the interrelationship between technology, type design, legibility and philosophies as they developed over the centuries through the medium of a handmade, 86-page, digitally printed, hand bound, cased-in book.
