Global Seagrass Watch | logo design and infographics | Environmental project
Last October I was invited to design a logo and an informative poster for a two-year project named “Global Seagrass Watch”, funded by the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Together with Dimos Traganos, Scientist and Project Manager, we developed an infographic poster that aims to describe the ecosystem of the "Global Seagrass Watch project";
the goal was to depict in detail the complex and crucial services provided by seagrasses,
one of the most vital, yet overlooked nature-based solution in response to the environmental and societal impacts of climate change.
Exploiting the technological advances in Earth Observation (cloud computing, artificial intelligence, open satellite image archives), the Global Seagrass Watch project aims to increase the value of and information about seagrass and seascape (including mangroves, corals, tidal flats) habitats.
The project takes shape in a cloud-native service that is commercialised and used for Seagrass extent and Carbon stock mapping.
