Composition lines:
Colour palettes:
Notes on all of paintings:
'The Supper at Emmaus': Our eyes are directed to the man in the centre and the man next to him as there are strong shadows in this part of the painting.
'The Concert': Light only in the centre of the painting so out eyes are immediately directed there.
'A Lady with a Squirrel and a Starling (Anne Lovell?)': Very solid colour, blue in the background while the subject is mainly neutral colours like white and black. Squirrel brown so doesn’t exactly stand out against the women’s outfit however once you notice it becomes very visible.
'Portrait of Susanna Lunden(?) ('Le Chapeau de Paille')': Women standing as if she is looking into the distance which makes the viewer wonder what she was looking at because she isn’t looking directly at the painter.
'Doge Leonardo Loredan': Once again looking into the distance. Very strong pose as if posing for a school photo.
'Saint Catherine of Alexandria': Very dramatic pose. Looking up towards the sunlight.
