PUBLIC TORONTO LIBRARY ANNOUNCES OPEN MIC FESTIVAL DURING THE HOLIDAYS

Imagine yourself playing beside the best musicians in Toronto. Or sharing your best literary work with the best poets, writers, and storytellers of the city. That’s exactly what could happen to you during this holidays season.

Every Thursday from November 21 to December 19, Toronto Public Library is organizing The Open Mic Festival where people can share their works on the same stage with a famous artist.  The acclaimed poet and Giller prize winner Ian Williams, the jazz singer Jenna Marie Pinard, and other great artists will be performing at the festival. 

The Open Mic invites any solo, duo, poets, and stand up comedians to perform for 5 minutes. There will be 4 microphones and amplifiers for 4 instruments to support performers. Everyone is promised a supportive crowd! The performer's registration begins at 5:00 p.m. the days of the event. Open mic artist will be the opening act. 

During the festival, the assistants will also share some drinks. The audience should book tickets which can be exchanged for a glass of punch on arrival. All the money raised will go to support homeless youth programs. And remember, the event begins at 7:00 p.m and ends at midnight. You can buy the tickets from now on our website  www.torontolybrary.com. Tickets are $10.0, and $5.0 for students and seniors .
