Bellus Covers
BFA Project
The following are a series of covers I designed and illustrated for my BFA Project my last year in college. I wanted to do something more than the standard design student does, as I always considered myself more of an illustrator than most.

The idea comes from a marriage of two things I remember most from my youth: My great-grandmother telling me stories and fables from the old world and ancient religions, and the pin-up calendar girls that populated my great-grandfather's workshop. I wanted to create something that would combine these two things and pay homage to these most influential of people.

The design of the magazine's logo, the illustrations of the girls, and the layout are all done by me. The poses are influenced greatly by Gil Elvgrin, one of the kings on pin-up.

A Russian river demon who entices young men to the water's edge before killing and skinning them.
Blaq Hol
A type of Scandinavian creature that supposedly lived in the stars and came out at night.
May Deusa
Ancient Greek monster who turned me to stone with a gaze.
Harp E.Ancient Greek monster; a kind of half-woman, half-eagle witch.
Jen E. FreetFrom the Middle East, a genie of ifrit. Capable of granting wishes in some stories, but a demon in others.
