The canals, towpaths and the water itself provided a dark and beautiful backdrop to world that I hadn't really seen before. Filled with life that was fascinating to photograph. The soaring house prices in London have meant that the amount of houseboats in London alone have risen from 200 to an estimated 15 000 in the last ten years. The people, the parties, the DIY pirate rigs, and the wildlife on the water always seem to combine a sense of grit and beauty all in one.
