The exhibition ATLAS of the ruins OF EUROPE uses ruins and amplified ruination as a tool and a language through which to read Europe’s history and memory. The contents of the exhibition were heavy in substance and visually. To offset this, we were asked to put together the space and the graphic design into the language of ruins without being literal but evocative. The exhibition spanned 4 rooms, each in a darker gray, with each identified by a typographic ruined title. Below was flyer that keyed into each artifacts number. Color, typography and scale were combined to create a somber contemplative mood.
