Mankind’s arrival to Mars is just a few steps away. However, to make long term life on Mars easier for humans we would have terraform it. From wiki:

Terraforming or terraformation (literally, "Earth-shaping") of a planet, moon, or other body is the hypothetical process of deliberately modifying its atmosphere, temperature, surface topography or ecology to be similar to the environment of Earth to make it habitable by Earth-like life.

Despite having a very cold and dry climate and a thin atmosphere, Earth and Mars have a lot in common. Size, structure, composition, and even the presence of water on its surface are a few of the characteristics that make Mars the ideal candidate for human settlement.

There are several reasons why the settling of humans on Mars has been proposed: to better understand life outside earth, the unstoppable population growth, the exhaustion of natural resources, the possibility of an asteroid impact or the mere wish to grow as a species. Imagining humans on Mars is just exciting, isn’t it?
First off we need to know some basic information about Mars, its satellites, meteorology, how the planet compares to Earth and a few of the missions and friendly robots that have been sent there.
In my project I illustrate some of the processes that have been theorised to transform the Martian environment. A large part of the experts on this subject have made the division of the matter into the following phases:
Atmosphere modification
Search for water
Introduction of plants or other organisms for oxygen production

**However, due to its core, Mars has no magnetosphere that protects it against radiation and solar wind. Therefore, unless we find a method to create it, the new atmosphere would slowly dissolve and Mars be uninhabitable again. Nevertheless, this transformation would take thousands of years, more than enough time for humanity to find a solution
This was also my first time doing a quarter-bound cover binding!
As always, I love to show process pics and sketches that led me to the final result. Paper engineering is all about trial and error.
